SDI commissioned Alliance Hotels to carry out a scoping exercise which will help SDI tackle the issues facing Scottish tourism businesses venturing into international markets. The work aims to provide an understanding about the practical processes and steps a tourism business should consider when looking internationalising - such as routes to market, performance management and e-commerce.
From this, SDI aims to identify the areas where they and Scottish Enterprise can intervene, and implement some recommendations.

During this period, Alliance Hotels developed the "Win Worldwide Toolkit" on behalf of SDI – please see enclosed a copy of the toolkit
A one week business development mission to the key market of Germany in order to support the following Scottish-based Tourism companies was arranged by Alliance Hotels:
Adventure on Wheels, Boots n Paddles, Broxmouth Park, Cringletie House Hotel, Rabbie's Trail Burners, Rua Reidh Lighthouse, Speyside Wildlife, Wilderness Scotland
